It’s not long now until October 4, and the beginning of the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 beta. It also seems that the remaining details about what’s included in the beta have been leaked, courtesy of Reddit user Some_Info. The Force is strong with this one.
Some_Info has a good reputation when it comes to leaking information for Battlefront 2. They’ve previously shown screenshots for the closed alpha before it was even announced. They’ve also revealed details about the game prior to its E3 2017 reveal.
In the beta players will be able to take their ‘favourite heroes’ into battle on the large scale 40-player Assault on Theed City map. The latest information leak supports this, adding that players will be able to take part in battles on Strike on Takodana, as well as 24-player space battles in Starfighter Assault on Fondor.
The Skirmish mode returns in the beta, and it’ll be called Arcade. This mode was originally a co-op-focused mode that modified maps, and added an arcade scoring mechanic to the game, complete with power-ups and weapon boosts. Skirmish will contain solo, split-screen and cooperative mode for two players to blast through.
As with all rumours and leaks, it’s always good to bear in mind that things may change. But going by previous accurate leaks from Some_Info, this new information could well be true.
EA had previously announced that a Star Wars Battlefront II multiplayer beta would be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 4, with early access for those who’ve pre-ordered the game. In addition to earlier access, anyone who’s preordered the game will receive bonus content, including Yoda’s Epic Lightsaber Mastery Star Card. Following the early access, the beta will open to the public two days later on October 6, and end on October 9
Star Wars Battlefront II is out on November 17 2017 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
